A new exhibition on the marriages between members of the Grand Ducal House and the Royal House of Great Britain has been unveiled at the Neustrelitz State Museum as part of the celebrations of the 250th anniversary of the coronation of Queen Charlotte. The exhibitions motto “three weddings of the English Royal House” refers to the marriages of Duchess Charlotte, Duchess Friederike and Grand Duke Friedrich Wilhelm to King George III, Ernest Augustus the Duke of Cumberland and Princess Augusta of Cambridge respectively.
The exhibition which is due to run until 3 October includes photos and documents with a special exhibit on the life of Queen Charlotte and her family. The show was curated by the director of the Queen Luise Memorial at Schloss Hohenzieritz, Hans-Joachim Engel. His Highness Duke Borwin was among those to loan material to make the exhibit possible.
