A plaque in memory of Grand Duke Adolf Friedrich VI was unveiled at 9:30 this morning at the canal bridge in Neustrelitz close to wear his body was found in 1918. The plaque was sponsored by the Ritterorden “Der Greif” e.V. and the Head of the Grand Ducal House, His Highness Duke Borwin who is patron and honorary grandmaster of the order.
The late Grand Duke Adolf Friedrich VI was the last Mecklenburg-Strelitz grandmaster of the old Grand Ducal Order of the Griffin. The current Ritterorden “Der Greif” e.V. was founded in 1984 on the 100th anniversary of the creation of the extinct Grand Ducal Order.
