New exhibition in London

At KensingtoQueen Charlotten Palace in London a new exhibition opened on 22 June 2017 titled 'Enlightened Princesses: Caroline, Augusta, Charlotte and the Shaping of the Modern World'.


The exhibition which is the work of the Historic Royal Palaces charity and the Yale Center for British Art explores the impact of three German royals who married into the British Royal Family and how their interests helped to shape British culture in the 18th century.


One of the royals covered in the exhibition is Duchess Charlotte who married King George III of Great Britain in 1761 and became the first Queen consort from the House of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. The other royals covered are Margravine Caroline of Ansbach who was the Queen consort of King George II and Princess Augusta of Saxe-Gotha the consort of Frederick, Prince of Wales.
